Velvet Indulgence

Straight off the catwalk and into our homes, velvet is no longer just for wearing. A big trend throughout this year, now we’re officially in the winter months, velvet comes into its own!

This tactile trend is sweeping our interiors with glamour, bringing grandeur and opulence with its rich textures and deep tones.

Sumptuous velvets are a simple way to add instant luxury. Striking furniture, bold colours and sophisticated pieces, from soft velvet upholstered stools and classic armchairs, to deep toned cushions and throws, add a unique touch of elegance to your home.

A velvet sofa is the ultimate in interior indulgence. Opting for a rich, jewel tone velvet, and setting it against a plainer backdrop, will really make your sofa the star of the show.

Sofa Workshop Expert Advice

“We love velvet for its style, and practicality. Velvet is also surprisingly hardwearing, which means that you can rely on this material to be long lasting, whilst still looking great.

“Velvet looks amazing in one statement colour, which explains the amount of vibrant jewel tones and rich shades on the market! Play around with cushions and throws, mixing and matching the colour palette of your accessories from season-to-season.

“Many high performance velvets now contain polyester (like our Dusky fabric) that limit bruising and irregularities, but still gives the soft, luxe feel of cotton velvets. This means that velvet is no longer limited to ‘occasional’ usage, as used to be the case with 100% cotton velvets as they were so temperamental, and also makes the material more accessible cost-wise, enabling you to achieve an impactful and luxurious look for less!”
