In a nutshell: Sofa Workshop specialises in hand making sofas, and has done so for the last twenty years.
The unedited version: We understand that, for most people, choosing a sofa is a daunting prospect. But rest assured we have gained a huge amount of expertise in the last twenty years, and our people, in-store and on the phone, are here to guide you through the choices and decisions so you choose the sofa that is right for you.
Think how dull our homes would be if everyone had the same sofa…yawn! So we make individual sofas for individuals. Choose from the largest range of styles, sizes and fabrics on the high street. And if one of our styles is ‘nearly’ right, then our made to measure service means we can alter the size, proportions and cushion filling until it is bang on perfect for you.
Handmade in Britain
We are very proud that our sofas are all handmade in Britain by skilled craftsmen (cue national anthem!), and we are so confident in the quality of our sofas that every one is guaranteed up to ten years - disposable furniture just isn’t our thing!
Our History
Long, long ago in a land far away, Tunbridge Wells to be exact, we opened our first store. It was 1986 and Maverick and Goose were flying high. Sofa Workshop was created to give our customers the opportunity to create the sofa they really wanted, with loads of choice plus great quality and service. That was over twenty years ago, we now have 13 shops, a thriving online business and even more people are sitting on our lovely sofas.
Our Head Office is now situated in an old fish packing factory near Farnborough, Hampshire and we have lots of plans for the next twenty years, and will continue with our mission to make the world a more comfortable place.
