The 2015 May Design Series has come to an end, and it proved to be the most successful yet, showcasing the best from the world of furniture and interior design. This year there were many exciting new products on display, and so we’ve gathered together some of the highlights.
Morris Mirrors, a North London-based company, is known for its innovative mirror designs. Its highly skilled workforce combines traditional methods of handcrafting with the most sophisticated machinery available to create stunning contemporary pieces. The mirror and console table below are just two of the many items the company displayed at the May Design Series this year.
The focus of this cutting-edge lighting range, presented by Massow Interiors, is on bespoke, high quality products. The ‘Hemmesphere Lighting Range’ is a versatile collection that adapts to any space. Massow takes something so humble and everyday as a light fixture and from that creates a piece that brings a unique style and beauty to a space.
Radiators are often boring or ugly, ruining the design flow of a room, but 3Dmodular have come up with an attractive range of radiator covers. The covers allow the free-flow of warm air, and make any space unique and appealing. Bright and modern, these radiator covers are perfect for a modern studio apartment – or for keeping little fingers away and safe.
acoshape+ is an inspirational concept combining acoustic engineering and light design to produce gorgeous objects that actually improve the acoustic comfort in spaces where people live, work, and meet. These light fixtures are not just beautiful – they’re also creative pieces of functional design.
Bright, tropical colours are expected to be key in upcoming contemporary designs, and there’s no easier way to introduce these tones than with some beautiful tiles from Verde Ceramica, which offers the very latest in Italian tiles. Bright and eye-catching with intricate design patterns, these tiles will liven up any dull or unloved space.
A bath can be just as much a statement piece as a feature wall or dramatic, eye-catching item of furniture. The Hurlingham Company specialises in locally sourced materials and hand finishing its products, making its cast iron baths spacious, classic, and timeless in their design.
Inspired by the natural world (the legs of African birds, to be precise), these lamps combine traditional sculpture with modern materials, and use the rich textures and flamboyance of nature to create a unique statement piece within the home.
Badgers of Bohemia is the rising star of surface prints, creating statement hand painted wallpapers, interiors, fabrics, and scarves with an original eye for nature, fun, and magic. These stunning pieces subvert inspiration into something ‘marvellously bonkers’, such as this cephalopod ‘Into The Deep’ wallpaper with its enchanting and entwining sea creatures.
Think Rugs import and distribute oriental, modern, and traditional rugs. The company’s dedicated design consultants and buying teams work with designers and weavers from across China, India, and Europe to offer customers the best in innovative and progressive textures, designs, and colours.
